After years on WooCommerce, the complicated backend affected speed and usability and limited the possibilities for design on the front end. The brand felt the webshop speed and past designs could impact their international growth, which was their next business ambition.
By transitioning Bamboo Basics from WooCommerce to Shopify, we were able to upgrade their online presence. We began with creating an efficient system for sorting and managing their entire collection on the back end, re-organising their product data. On the front end, this translated into a far easier system for customers to navigate and filter, and it also allowed for more flexibility in running promotions. We also implemented a hierarchy in the product offering to streamline things with categories and subcategories. Improving the usability translated into a commercial conversion, as speed and clarity are hugely important for a successful customer journey.
The redesign was an opportunity to make the brand language more cohesive and consistent. We implemented a new colour palette and design system, and incorporated storytelling elements more subtly throughout the website. The brand wanted to highlight the qualities of bamboo alongside the rest of the website content. The redesign ensured the right story and details were communicated where relevant and more intentionally.
